The Born Neighbourhood

El Born in Barcelona, is popular with tourists for its narrow streets, interesting and stylish independent shops, and great range of cafes, restaurants and bars.

It is also still a real neighbourhood: locals live here.  Look up and you’ll see their plant-bedecked windows, toy strewn balconies and heavily laden washing lines. You’ll also see the occasional sign reminding tourists to keep quiet at night.  Hopefully the photos below capture the neighbourhood feel.

  1. Yes I agree. The photos do have a neighbourhood feel and they are very peaceful. Lovely work. It reminds me of my visit to Spain.

    • I think I don’t do black and white often enough. It is very peaceful. And brings out details you might not notice when distracted by colour.
