The Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines analphabetic as lacking in education or the knowledge gained from books, and as one of my favourite literary characters commented:
“To the uneducated, an A is just three sticks.”
– Eeyore
Books bring knowledge, adventure, excitement, companionship and so much more. They have been a huge part of my life and I recognise that I have been privileged to have that experience. Here is a little photo mosaic (hover to see the picture’s caption) to celebrate books and education.

Fortunately my life has not been an analphabetical one. Your pics of bookshops and libraries brings a smile to my lips 🙂

This is a new word for me!
I love when I learn something new!
Reading is incredibly important for all of us! I remember my son disliked reading intently. I read aloud each night to him as a child and he liked that but to pick up a book on a voluntary basis just never happened.
When he was in his 20’s my husband bought him the book ‘Aztec Gold’ and kinda/sorta forced him to read it.
He’s been hooked every since!
Thanks for an informative and amazing post for the letter “A”.
Thanks for linking.

It is a great privilege to read fluently for education in books after ,
But i am always surprising when a child staying 6 years,at shool was a analphabetic, and nobody see this problem at school or house!
Read is so important for education in life.

You are right about the importance. Sometimes there are obviously real impediments to learning, such as dyslexia. But sometimes it is a case of finding the right incentive, something that they actually want to read.
