I love this quote and the minute I read it, it reminded me of a mural in Barcelona – one of a set of tile murals that decorate the walls of a narrow street in the gothic quarter.
I’m sure Peius Gener would have been equally annoyed if he felt he was making a “minuscule impact”. He was an extrovert and proud exponent of Catalan nationalism – I’m sure he didn’t wear that hat to blend in with the background.
