Anyone with a passion for ornate architecture will enjoy Vienna. Architecture styles have changed throughout history and many of the results were produced by well regarded architects. About Vienna gives a quick overview of the architecture and its creators.
Of course the Cathedral is one of its most known and most loved buildings. Stephansdom and its 136 metre tall tower is visible from all over the city.
For me, it is the ornate roof that is its greatest characteristic. Over 230,000 brightly coloured glazed tiles are simply stunning.
How wonderful!

Gorgeous, Debbie. I went with roof tiles for one of mine, too, but from France.

Oh yes, I love your shots and those roof tiles bear a lot of similarity to this

It’s so ornate, and what a steep pitch on that roof. I wonder if any of the workers slipped off during the tiling?
