The reflective pavilion in the Vieux Port is always on my visit list when I’m in Marseille. This slender steel canopy towers over the port area, providing reflections of both the ground and the neighbouring water. It has been cleverly designed with tapered edges so that it looks like a delicate structure, almost too fragile to feature so much activity.
My last trip revealed how it manages to give such accurate reflections. It is very thoroughly cleaned and polished – yet another height-related job that I could never do.

Great reflection! I had to stare at it for a minute to figure it out, but very cool.

I loved this spot in Marseilles. Somewhere I have a photo of a crowd of upside-down people watching upside-down street performers on the day we were there.

It’s great fun isn’t it – a lovely wide open space.
And a big wheel next to it now

I am surprised that more places don’t take advantage of the possibilities of reflection. We have “The Bean” in Chicago and it is visited constantly by tourists and locals alike … such fun :). Nicely done, Debbie …

Andrea (and Debbie), the Bean is great, too! I visited it recently and got some Escher-like shots. What fun reflections can be.
