Sea faring visitors to Bonifacio face an entrance that resembles a ravine more than a bay. The town’s stunning citadel towers over the harbour, calling all boats to enter the mouth.
The western tip of this challenging route is flagged by the solar-powered Madonetta lighthouse, a fiery guardian accessible from land, but whose grand view is reserved for those at water level.
