This mural by Vin Sever (my interpretation of the signature) adorns a wall at the corner of San Ignacio and Santa Clara, very close to the Plaza Vieja in Havana.
Many of the murals on the streets of Havana are the result of the triennial (sic) Havana Biennial Art Festival (next one due November 2018). Unapproved street art is not allowed.

Part of Monday Mural
I guess in some places artists have to be kept on a short leash. Art can be dangerous. Thanks for contributing to this week’s Monday Mural.

It was a nice piece. There’s another bigger and more known Che mural – I have probably over a hundred different shots of it (combined with cars and people) – I’ll post some eventually – just need to decide which ones!!

Yes. The 2008 has been added by someone – it’s not on older photos.

I think every society is controlled in a way. Nice to see Che again.

You’re right there!
It will be interesting to watch Cuba over the next couple of years and see how it changes. Change is never easy!

There has to be control of some kind – I can’t say how restrictive it is in Cuba without living there, but it certainly has its upsides in terms of great education and health service. And the music seems to help them overcome the downsides 🙂

Time is taking its toll on the mural, but it still stands out
