For me, the oval spiral of the Guggenheim is both calming and exciting. Its own artistic power is both a host and a competitor to the artworks on display here.
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, it opened in 1959. The restrictions imposed by fitting into a city, resulted in a tall, compact structure, contrasting strongly with his horizontally expansive rural structures, such as Taliesin West.
This is the view from the top, around 28 metres high beneath a stunning skylight; a view so fascinating that even Mrs Vertigo was compelled to hang over the wall and take in the view. With my camera lens joining in, of course.

I like that you used a black and white filter. really adds to the picture! If you have time, check out my latest blog post at https://tootinghustle.wordpress.com/2017/03/30/embarrassing-moment/ and let me know what you think!

All I can say is I’m glad I’m not afraid of heights. Cool photo Debbie and perfect for both challenges. 😀

This shot is so very you, but even better than your earlier looking down series. The conversion into black and white is terrific.

Thanks Paula. It was very high ISO (3200) so had to remove a bit of noise.

Yikes…that’s giving me vertigo!

The gentle, smooth spiral ascent seemed to remove the vertigo for me – much better than narrow spiral steps

I sympathise – I’m getting better and my camera helps – makes me concentrate on something other than the height!
