A colourful note: cornflower is a shade of medium-to-light blue that became a Crayola colour in 1949.
This colour name has a wide variety of uses. The most surprising one for me is the German popular song “Kornblumenblau” which takes pleasure in celebrating drunkenness, blau apparently being German slang for “drunk” (not something I learned when I studied the language).
Needless to say, I enjoyed the wine in Venice but no blau-ness for me!

A lovely couple in great costumes – they made a great contrast to the other glamorous gowns

Maybe we’ll see her in costume in Venice one day 🙂

She was there in costume on her honeymoon, wearing a variation of her wedding gown. 🙂

How wonderful! What a fantastic idea! Venice has a fantastic feel to it during Carnival – more relaxed and friendly than I remember from previous visits.

It would be interesting to see what each of the participants look like in every day life as well. Quite a contrast, I imagine. 🙂

Totally different! But it’s rude to take shots of them when they remove their masks (they have to do that to eat or drink) as they apply heavy makeup (usually black) around their eyes

Yes. Many of them are totally unmatchable. Significantly older or younger than you expect.
