A great way to find comfort when writing! It will be interesting which comforts will come up. Thanks for hosting:) My comfort is to be surrounded by trees.

Thanks for that post, definitely comforting.
Interestingly, though, I’m reading a book at the moment where the Asian hero considers himself a desert man and fears the trees. He feels that Europeans are tree-people and fear the desert.

There is probably much truth in that for Europeans, isn’t it? I knew nothing about the desert till we started living in California:)

What a marvelous spot and an evocative shot of it! Having read Donna Leon (speaking again of Venice), I know what the Acqua Alta is (and she has a book by that title), so I love the layers of meaning.

I still have to get started on reading her! I will definitely enjoy her mentions of this place

All her books take place in Venice, so you’ll enjoy that.

How wonderful to sit somewhere like that and browse the books.

Absolutely! Quite random browsing here – no rules followed for putting books on shelves (well, in piles)

That would be very relaxing in itself – not having to be concerned about putting the book back on the right pile/shelf. Although that would make it hard if you were looking for something in particular. 🙂

Now that’s a pile of books back there! I’m guessing the woman in the photo works there… I wonder if she knows where every book is. It’s still a very comfortable setting. Good one, Debbie.

I think she was just a customer, writing her upcoming book, or maybe her shopping list!
