This shot captures much of my experience of Havana – colour, fun, street art, classic cars, joy, spirit, old and new.

A colourful note: the term Black comes from Old English blæc, of Germanic origin, and meaning dark. Needless to say, this basic shade was an original crayon for Crayola when they brought out their first box in 1903.
This is the final day of the Colour Your World challenge, and it seems appropriate that we end with an achromatic colour – one of strong views and no hues.
Black was one of the first colours used in neolithic cave paintings, and became the colour worn by English romantic poets, businessmen and statesmen in the 19th century, plus a de rigueur colour for fashion in the 20th century.

I was amazed that it worked. I did this at 1/30 and was pleased with the sharpness given its speed and closeness to me. Something I need to play with a lot more – we must play with this and flash combined some time
