Golden Cardiff

Cardiff Bay and the glistening Millennium Centre,  Wales,  July 2017

My father was born and spent his childhood in a small town north of Cardiff.  His father fought for the Cardiff Pals in World War I and was sadly one of the many young men that lost their lives.  It was therefore a joy to me to see a modern and golden side of our world on a recent visit to Cardiff.

  1. It is neat that you know some of your history! Kept thinking Cardiff, why does that sound so familiar? Suddenly I remembered Cardiff was in my English textbook in high school:) Thank you much for linking up that beautiful building to All Seasons!

    • I didn’t love the city – I felt a bit of a sad run-down feel in parts of the town centre. I didn’t have time to fully explore, but I did find a couple of lovely shopping arcades, interesting castle (though had to dash madly as it was closing), good ice cream and very tasty Welsh cakes! Would have liked more time to try out the interesting craft beers.
The Bay area is lovely, however. Helped by shining sun. There are some striking new buildings, nice walk around bay to the barrage and decent chain restaurants for food.
I may well be back for business and will explore more closely. And I’ll definitely stay down at the Bay again. And I’d like to get to the Dr Who centre.
