Arles is well that ends well

Place de la République,  Arles,  France,  August 2017

A good excuse to exceed six:
Wishing very happy travels to Anthony
(And all of his family too).
Thanks for a great Arles workshop,
Farewell for now
See you 2018!

And many thanks to another good friend for inspiring the six words

Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.

I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.

To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally – tweet, instagram, flickr, etc. with the hashtagtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS.

  1. Arles? I see green with envy?!Because of van Gogh it’s on my bucket list…
Actually I came here, because I do not see your One Word Sunday photo for tomorrow (Sunday Sept 3)): “Lookout. ” Did I overlook it?
Also, didn’t know you took over Six Word Saturday, because I have been in a cave for a number of months, painting my 10 x 17 feet. Since that’s almost finished, I have come out and a few things changed since then! Cool thing:)

    • Hi Jesh. Yes I took over SixWord Saturday a few months ago.
Just after I started One Word Sunday.
You’re a bit head of me for OWS, it will be up in about 8 hours, and yes it will be Lookout.
I’ve had a very busy (I really should go slower) couple of weeks with the workshop in Arles, helping my daughter with her dissertation and her move out of student accommodation, various family events, and a forthcoming trip to Vietnam. Plus my daughter is off to travel Asia for 3 months on Thursday.
One day, I’ll learn to rest.

As for Arles, it is a beautiful place, and oh so friendly. You will spot the similarities with Van Gogh’s work and understand why the colours there were such a soother and inspirer for him. Just make sure you go in summer so that you can also enjoy the annual international photography exhibition.

Also, I’m planning to go every year, so we could meet up 🙂

    • Thanks Ron. I was pleased to capture such a good mix of people. It’s one of 2 popular squares in Arles but crowds and harsh light make it hard to catch something interesting.
