Over to all of you to join the challenge with your own interpretation of oojamaflip – a British slang word of unknown origin, meaning a thing whose name is temporarily forgotten.

I love the expression on His Face! Wonderful!
Struggled with this challenge – love the word, though!

Never heard the word before. We called such things ‘thigamajig’

We use that one too – I think that one’s easier, in fact

I love this photo. I live in England at the moment and haven’t heard anyone use this word. I wonder if I will now that I have seen it here…

If not, you should start using it and see what reaction you get 🙂

Indeed – there are many words for the same idea – if only you can remember what those words are!

You’ve got me stumped with this one, Debs!

I struggled myself. Seemed such an easy one when I set it, and then wasn’t. Given my memory these days “oojamaflip” could be anything to be honest

My grandmother would say “oh, the ‘doings’, you know”!… My sister and I would be none the wiser as to which object she was referring to!

Yes, I’ve heard “doings” – I think my mum has used that.
