It’s interesting how we all have our own, often distinct, views of the meaning of words. And that dictionaries often try to contradict us!

Yes, your photo illustrates “stark”. When photo challenges have a one word prompt, I usually cross check my understanding by consulting dictionaries. The various different renditions in German often help me with inspiration on how to approach the task. Not so this time. I know what “stark” means, I have read it often enough, heard it often enough, used it myself – but none of the translations in German satisfy me (except a few, in very specific contexts). I didn’t think that “stark” was posing a translation problem but I haven’t found a solution. I have found a photo, though: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2018/06/24/in-your-face/

That is very interesting, I expect German to have every possible meaning just by adding a couple of words together 🙂
But obviously pictures can beat the language in expressing our thoughts and views, so I’ll be over now to view your starkness
