Some smart people in Dundee came up with a creative idea over lunch and launched the Open/Close Project. The aim was to bring great street art to the city in a way that would brighten up the previously unexplored nooks and crannies of the city. As a result there are 18 street art pieces on 18 different doors by 18 local artists, and most of them are on doors.
I hadn’t gone armed with a map so my trail was a bit hit and miss as I hunted the alleys of Dundee city centre. I didn’t find them all, but what I found was excellent, a tremendous way to brighten hidden doorways and reduce vandalism. I hope you enjoy the selection below.
To find out more about these pieces (plus the ones I didn’t find!) head over here.

A great scheme and some lovely art – I particularly like the arches door.

Oh, I wish i’d known about this last week! I was in Dundee with friends to follow the Women’s History Trail, and on the way we spotted quite a few of the current Penguin Parade, but none of these doors.

So many great doors, Debbie, especially that last one. Are you going to link these to Norm’s site so more people can find them?
