LOL…had to look carefully to confirm that this was not from Birmingham, Alabama… [Queen Victoria statue was the clue..]

I’ve only been to the UK once, for 10 wonderful days. So I am particularly chuffed to see a photo of a place where I can say: been there! You picked a glorious day to take those photos!

Not many go to Birmingham on a short visit. I grew up nearby but the city has changed a lot in the last few years and I enjoyed my exploration

I didn’t have a choice. It was the Rugby World Cup and we had tickets for Samoa-South Africa. But I loved the canals (they were fab!) and the whole area around Villa Park (not beautiful but very interesting) and I wrangled a visit in Stratford-upon-Avon out of my husband. Not forgetting the floozie in the jacuzzi, of course. The only thing I didn’t get was the accent! 😀

Fortunately, I escaped the accent!!
You clearly explored very well. I’m a Villa fan so glad you liked that area, and it would have been criminal to miss out on Stratford.

Oh, I forgot: the library looks stunning. Now I am remembering all those great things about Birmingham, the golden boys and the two sisters and their kids representing a typical family. We stayed in a b&b to the south, in Hockley Heath and I had the BESTEST (sic!) fish and chips.
