Guide Dog for the blonde

Venice Carnival, March 2019

This smart dog in a severely spiky collar, is a blondenhund, or dog for the blonde (not a blindenhund, dog for the blind), who made a sharp impression at Venice Carnival this year.

You can catch a glimpse of his blonde owner, Daniela Schmid, reflected in his spectacles. I’ll introduce her more fully tomorrow.

  1. Wonderful. I love that she is wearing a crown in the reflection! 😉 There are so many jokes about blondes, in German as well as in English, and the analogy to “Blindenhund” is nicely done.
