Any ideas?
More of a clue:
And here’s the answer, in the form of the oldest commercial logo that has been in continuous use since its creation – in 1787!
That year, Richard Twining I, grandson of the Twinings founder, Thomas Twining, commissioned this shop entrance, on the Strand in London.
It features a golden lion and two Chinese men, plus the logo. The lion is lying down which is interpreted as a sign of respect towards Thomas Twining. The two Chinese characters reflect that China was for long the main country of origin for tea.
Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally – tweet, instagram, flickr, etc. with the hashtagtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS.

Very interesting and probably not politically correct anymore (there is a lot of talk about old logos with racial stereotypes in Germany) – but even if you are at Twining’s – there is no escape – resistance is futile: https://picturesimperfect2.wordpress.com/2019/05/03/they-are-coming-to-get-you/

I wouldn’t have guessed London from the first couple of photos! I will honour Twinings later with a mug of their finest peppermint tea. 🙂

Well, later I’ll have a cuppa or two in honor of Twinings. 🙂 I like their entrance and I didn’t know their logo was the oldest.
I’m back in the park today for my six words: https://sustainabilitea.wordpress.com/2019/05/04/a-little-two-too-tightly-wrapped/.

A sign with some history. Lovely colours and interesting to learn the meaning of the different parts of the logo.
