Doors in need of care and attention, Margate, Kent, January 2020
These shabby doors really caught my attention as I wandered around Margate, and a big thank you has to go to the street artist who had given me that beautiful horse’s head to finish off my shot. The pigeon was very welcome too.
Then by pure chance when I was preparing this post, I came across a youtube guide to drawing a horse’s head. Pens, pencils and paintbrushes don’t sit very happily in my hands, but this guide gives me some hope:

Great image. Often, the shabbier the door the better the photograph.

To say the title of this post is spot on would be a serious understatement 😀
Lovely shot though.
I watched the video and can honestly say that even with these tips it’s probably best for everyone if I stick to photography 😉

Thanks, Simon. Last weekend’s weather took me to the seaside!

When I was growing up, I drew horse heads and horses all the time. Now I probably couldn’t do a very good job. Nice catch on the door, et al.

Ah, an artist at heart
I used to dream about them but really couldn’t draw

I think the art gene skipped me and hit both our girls. Perhaps if I’d kept at it, but now I take photos instead.

Well, you’ll have to show us your own effort at a horse’s head next time!

Hee hee. I’ll have to assess potential damage to my image! I’ll get practicing. 😀
