River Tagus, Lisbon, March 2020
The Tejo (Tagus) is the longest river in the Iberian Peninsular, running for 650 miles before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean. Its last major port of call is Lisbon, where many people that walk its banks, or cross the waters by boat or bridge, forget that it’s a river as its size bears closer resemblance to the sea.
Head along the river to the Vasco da Gama Bridge, Europe’s second longest bridge, and you’ll truly marvel at the volume of this water mass.
