Rock (solid mineral material) versus rock (a genre of music)
Welcome to One Word Sunday, and over to all of you to join the challenge with your own homonym or homophone or homograph post. Feel free to pick any homophonic word or words and present it as you wish. There are many lists available (here for example), and here’s a poem by Thomas Hood to get you in the mood:
“His death, which happen’d in his berth,
At forty-odd befell:
They went and told the sexton, and
The sexton toll’d the bell.”
To join the challenge, please use pingback by putting a link in your post to the URL of this post, allowing others to have the opportunity to visit and join the challenge. Then come back here and leave us a comment.
If you have any problems with linking via pingback, just add your own URL into your comment.

I know the clouds aren’t the feature, but love them nonetheless 😃 Was going to follow your lead with metal, but went a different route in the end: https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2020/04/16/stick-one-word-sunday/

I have to confess I had not heard of this word before. Such fun thinking of how to use it in one word Sunday. Here is my effort my word Entrance! https://carylbeach.org/2020/04/12/one-word-sunday-homonym/

Thanks. Enjoy your toilet paper. I was tempted to hide some in the garden as Easter presents for neighbours.

ooh I like this – a piece of sculpture in the middle of nowhere and some great music to accompany it 🙂

My current big dream destinations once we can move are London, and remote Scotland. Back to the Shetlands I think.

Took me ages to think of one too (seemed an easy topic when I set it!)
Yours was a good choice, Brian, and I’m still turn, turn, turning 🙂 🙂

There are many but it’s the image to go with the word that is the hard part. Glad you are turning to the music Debbie 🙂 🙂

Happy Easter, Debbie. I’m not publishing for another three hours so I’ll link a bit later. Love the rock photo. (Just curious why your blog link has “draft” in the title.)

Thanks for spotting it. I always work from a draft initially and if I do a save like that (before giving it’s proper title) that URL is saved and I have to remember to change it manually!! Changed now though 🙂 Thanks Janet
