The Hải Vân Pass runs for 21 km over the mountains between Huế and Đà Nẵng. It has gained recent fame after appearing on the Top Gear Vietnam Special, but is also remembered for being the location of two serious rail accidents and a plane crash.
It provides a stunning journey, with fantastic views. Just take care as you make the crossing.
At the high point, I somehow managed to get up onto the rock where this guide is chatting away without a care, but holding myself steady enough to take a shake-free photo was quite a challenge. Heights really disagree with me.

But the result is amazing, even if it was wobbly! Love the post.

PS the notifications for pingbacks have stopped again 😦 thought I’d come and check if you had posted as so unusual for you to comment and there to be no previous pingback

Very annoying. I had meant to add the link but it has been a busy morning – a blocked dishwasher and an email account that just won’t work. Aaah!
