Geometric shadows at Nizwa Fort

Nizwa Fort was built in the 17th century and acted as an important defence structure in turbulent times. It is solidly constructed, with deep foundations, solid walls, thick doors and lots of hidden traps. And most of this sits within a stately round tower around 30 metres tall.

The fort was heavily renovated in the 1990s, and for me, its impeccable perfection now makes it hard to imagine it at war. That said, you can click here to see it under fire from the RAF during the Jebel Akhdar War.
