Lightning strikes twice

This jagged Giant Redwood lost much of its giantness when struck by lightning. What’s more, it was struck twice, first in 1987 and again in 1999.

It is now a lesser lightning attractor.

  1. If we’re out riding in Wyoming and it starts raining hard, we generally take cover under a tree of some sort. Of course, the advice is always don’t stand under a tree, but with trees everywhere, I figure that odds that our tree will be hit are fairly slim. But if this guy can be hit twice, I may have to re-think that. 🙂
