  1. Christo’s umbrella project immediately springs to mind. Do you remember that? He and his crews installed over over 1000 large yellow umbrellas along the grapevine in Kern County California. Simultaneously they installed an equally large number of blue ones in Ibaraki Japan about 120 kilometers north of Tokyo.

  2. I love the towns that display their umbrellas like this. So many in Italy seem to have adopted the idea and it is so cheerful – as well as offering shade to the walkers.
