Hex colour Reference: #7442c8
A colourful note: Purple heart is the common name for a rainforest tree, Peltogyne, a tree that has incredibly strong wood. Known as heartwood, it is famous for both its strength and its colour: once cut, it turns rapidly from light brown to rich purple. The Crayola version of this colour made its appearance in 1997 and is still available.
