Need some focus on your photography. Need inspiration, impetus or just a topic idea? Then a competition could be the answer.

So for all of you who fancy giving it a go, and either don’t know what’s open or don’t get around to it, here is a list .  To help, here’s a list to get you started, in order of closing date.
Please let me know of any others you are aware of in the comments below as I update the page regularly. I must just add, that many of them provide feedback on your entered images and they are worth entering just to receive that.

Amateur Photographer of the Year (APOTY) 2021
Round 6 (Movement) closes 6 July 2021.

Life Framer
Monthly calls for entries, each month with its own topic, each overseen by a world-renowned photographer or industry professional.
Monthly winners receive online exposure and $2000 in cash prizes.  Varying costs to enter, but $100 for 12 months membership gives 10 entries to each month’s topic.
Entered images should be less than 6mb in size, .jpg format, around 2500px longest dimension.
At the end of the year winners are exhibited in shows in New York, Paris, Rome and Tokyo.

All About Photo (AAP) 2021 Award
CLOSED 5 February 2021. Results due 30 April 2021.
Enter between 3 and 50 images, all to be judged separately not as a portfolio. Entry fee of $30 for 3 entries. Cash prizes plus publicity.
