Funny enough, I have a lot of laundry photos from around the world. I even made a poster for my laundry room with images from China and called it Laundry Day.

And I don’t think I’d call yours predictable, David. It’s the wildest laundry I’ve seen, I reckon

Here’s mine Debbie. Just back from Spain so this one was easy-peasy. I love your seriously huge stack of washing here. With men on the case. https://margaret21.com/2026/11/08/laundry-spanish-style/

Hard to believe that in the States, many places don’t let you hang laundry out where anyone can see it. I don’t understand it.

What? Depriving you of the wonderful smell of air-dried washing? AND more or less forcing you to use energy needlessly by machine-drying it?

Interestingly, here in the desert, air-dried laundry, doesn’t have that same wonderful smell. I just hang mine on one or maybe two drying racks or hang in a closet that has room for the clothes to air dry. I know, it’s just stupid. Who cares if you see somebody’s drying laundry?

That’s interesting about the smell. It’s too cold and damp here this morning so my laundry is draped like you do.

Yes, I was kind of surprised that there isn’t that fresh smell.

If it’s that shameful, don’t hang it out, but otherwise …. hard to see the problem!

This rule is only in communities that have HOA’s, homeowners associations and maybe not in all of them. if someone notices and complains, or someone in charge sees it, they will send you a warning letter and if you keep doing it, they’ll fine you. In the HOA where we were renting when we first moved here, you could hang laundry outside, if no one was able to see it. I would put my drying rack out on our back patio, because the houses all had walls around the backyards, so it was safe. 😊. You have to sign something agreeing to the various rules that the HOA has before you move in.
