The picturesque Hozu River, part of the Katsura River in Kyoto Prefecture in Japan, is a popular location for a relatively calm whitewater boat trip.
Even if you don’t do the actual boat trip you can take some scenic photographs, thanks to the lifelike model river nearby. No need to fret about getting wet while seeking the best angle for your photo!
The two shots above are a good example of the different perspectives offered by portrait and landscape shots, with the portrait capture giving greater appreciation of the length and overall scale of the river.
