When love beckons to you,
follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you,
yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.–Khalil GibranYoung Lovers statue, outside St Paul’s Cathedral

Beautiful shot! As the others said, I like the young love vs old love you’ve captured here!

well this is such a fun photo – and I like what you and Emilio noted about the couples – and I also enjoyed the whole frame for this – like the two trees – the yellow flowers anchors the photo – and almost helps the hint of yellow come out in the building (near the windows?) and then the dome top brings the eye up and away – really great feel to this photo and quote…. 🙂 enjoyed it. ~yvette

I like the juxtaposition of the statue with the couple in the bg – adds another dimension to your quote.

And what of the couple sitting on the bench behind the statue? Old love?

I wondered who would spot them. I liked the contrast. But of course it all depends on your perspective, some may still think they are young! Young at heart maybe?

Correction. I didn’t say they were old, just that they might represent old love. As opposed to how the statue represents young lovers so tightly entwined, these two are comfortable sitting side by side with the slightest of touch. Young at heart? Definitely. Love always makes us young at heart!
