Countries ending and starting with A

Vienna skyline, 2015

A week or two ago, Cee gave us a challenge of a country ending with K. What a great topic – and it gave me a need to complete the alphabet.
So, I’m taking a break from my Wednesday quotations (my last quote post gave a hint of this) and tackling geography with an alphabetic slant instead.

I’m kicking off with countries that end and begin with A. Not an easy start, as I can only name nine such countries, and have only visited two. Though another one was on my travel list for last year ….

Here we go, then, with a rapid jaunt around Austria.

For any of you who fancy joining in, here is my short list of A….A countries.

  • Albania
  • Algeria
  • Andorra
  • Angola
  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Argentina
  • Armenia
  • Australia
  • Austria

And next week will be easier – countries that end with A. There are in the region of eighty such countries – the exact number depends on those recognised as official countries and, of course, the language used.

  1. Great challenge Debbie, I’m not sure I’ve got anything left to post! I did an A to Z challenge last year. Maybe I should have pinged back my latest post from Margaret River
