Cannon on Fort Hill – week 2

a1_20150907_a1_20150907_20150907__DSC0319_6000 x 4000_tonemapped monochrome - Copy_5995 x 3997

I decided to go for monochrome this week.  This was a tricky shot because of the light sky and dark shaded cannon, so for this one I’ve created an HDR from 3 shots at different exposures using Photomatix Pro’s standard monochrome preset. I then returned to Lightroom to straighten and sharpen slightly.

I am very happy to see the detailed clouds and the variety of textures.

  1. You got excellent detail in the clouds, nicely done there. I can see a soft glow effect around the chain going into the ring and the wall steps on that side from the HDR process , its not unpleasing but I do notice it 🙂
