Grand Canyon, August 2009
Hex colour reference: #faa76c
A colourful note: tan was one of Crayola’s new colours in 1958. I went back many years to select the image above, because this shade had an alternative crayon name as part of Crayola’s State Crayon Collection: In 2004-2006, it was known as Arizona Grand Canyon.
The first written use of tan as a colour name in English dates back to 1590. It originated from tannum (oak bark), as used in the tanning of leather.

as teh years passed, they incraesed their marketing. Not all of their ideas appeal to me, but the states was definitely a good one.
