The cloister of Mont St Michel perches at the edge of the church, forming a key part of the section of the building which is known as “Merveille” (wonder).  Three pointed arches, now glassed in, provide vertiginous views, plus wobbly knees.

  1. It’s a rare picture which fixes one’s eyes so firmly to the left they keep drifting back however one tries to look into the distance. Glad there’s glass there!

  2. Wonderful! Apart from your expert framing of that view, I’m struck by the way you’ve managed all the different tones – the inside of the arch is as clear as the sunlit stone. Altogether a very fine photo.
