Hex colour reference: #ff7f49
A colourful note: A Dictionary of Color by Maerz and Paul informs us that burnt orange has been used as a colour name since 1915. This dark orange shade appeared as a Crayola crayon in 1958.

What a great picture. Love the low sun off to the left and the rest of the horses bathed in the orange reflection in the water #MySundayPhoto

Most definitely!
I’m not a natural morning person, but my camera has taught me that I must make that effort 🙂

What a beautiful shot and I do like the colour of burnt orange.
I wonder where the horses are going – they’re all unbridled so will they be herded up and moved somewhere?! A photo asking lots of questions!

Yes, the riders are guardians. And the unbridled are their horses. I don”t think there are any truly wild horses on the Camargue anymore. The guardians look after them and tourists can go and ride them.

Photography is always a challenge! But a fun (and addicitive one)
I often join a photography workshop (Camargue is here if you’re interested: http://www.timmannakee.com/photo-holidays/white-horses-black-bulls-2-2/)
Getting out with an experienced photographer and leader and a group of other photographers, you absorb the advice and get new inspiration. And have a great holiday!

Thank you Darren. I go to the Camargue to capture the galloping horses above all else, but it’s nice to take a breath, relax and get a “pure” sunrise

It’s a fantastic part of France – I love the whole of Provence, and the horses and bulls of the Camargue make an exquisite break from history and architecture and man-made art.

That is an amazing photo. The sunset is one thing, but you made an extraordinary photo out of it.

Beautiful. You might want to also check out a 1971 movie called friends where two teenagers runaway to the Camargue. A bit of a teen melodrama but some nice scenery. 🙂

Beautiful photo! It reminds me of a French movie about a boy and his horse in Camargue.
