Lilac Belle in Venice

Venice Carnival,  February 2017

Hex colour ref:  adadd6

A colourful note: the bluebell that is native to Britain, Hyacinthoides non-scripts, is a deep blue-violet flower that embellishes the floor of deciduous woodland in Spring.  There are also non-native bluebells, such as the Spanish bluebell that are often shades paler blue and lilac.

The Spanish bluebell is closer in colour to the Crayola bluebell crayon, more lilac than blue.  These species can also hybridise with the native bluebell, leading to wide range of tones, shapes and sizes of flowers.
