View from Largo das Portas do Sol, Lisbon, May 2017
Not many changes in 11 years, though there was clearly more sun in 2006, and the jacaranda was feeling more buoyant. These shots are taken from a classic viewpoint at Portas del Sol, hence two such similar views taken so far apart.
If I took this again now, I’d probably be able to get a ship in shot again, as they were working on a new cruise terminal in 2017. If we take a look at a wider view we’ll see the work underway on the right hand side.
The terminal opened in November 2017.

Even with the last picture the terminal doesn’t appear to have spoilt the view.

Both are lovely photos. It is interesting to see the comparison between the two.

Great view. It looks like the boat has shrunk over time 😂😂😂

Fabulous Debbie. Lisbon is changing so fast these days it is good to capture the changes this century. Reminds me I must take some present shots here in Olhão before we leave.

I wish I had taken more photos before my current obsession!
But I’m just about to scanning the older ones that I have – and I’ll be able to join in more go your Past and Present challenges 🙂

This is a great idea Debbie! That’s such an amazing feeling to be able to find the same places from a previous visit, and see what has changed in the view, but also in our own lives, right?
