You photo has stirred up so many memories, Debbie. The first one is of Hofuf in Saudi Arabia, at the centre of the Al-Ahsa oasis, one of largest palm plantations in the world. A sea of green in the middle of the sand desert. And I remember camping in the desert and being caught in the rain (20 minutes of light drizzle, after about a year of nothing) and waking up to a grey-green fuzz of growth in the morning and everybody exclaiming; “It’s so green, so incredibly green!”
I went makro instead with my contribution: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2019/02/06/hier-wachst-brot-we-grow-bread-here/

I was amazed at the quantity of green in Oman – and terraces of palm trees were a particular surprise. I’m glad it brought back those memories for you.

There is quite a contrast between the green of the palms and the stark brown mountain

It surprised me every time we cam across an expanse of green.
