Michelangelo’s Last Judgement
including a self portrait in the flayed skin of Saint Bartholomew

So, you’re probably thinking I’m on my travels?
Yes, this is the Last Judgement from Rome’s Sistine Chapel, but not as you know it.

This is part of an accurate and official copy of the Michelangelo works from the Chapel, now on a world tour. I saw this in Winchester, though the display there has now closed and is now open for its second and only remaining British appearance in Hull Minster. It is on show there until 18 November 2019.

The crowds have kept me away . Must go back! https://writingroma.wordpress.com/2019/10/29/the-first-view-of-the-sistine-chapel/

The crowds are bad! And no photos are allowed as copyright is tightly controlled.
If you have an option of getting to Hull to see the copies I highly recommend it – much easier to see the detail of this work than in its real and very crowded location in Vatican city

I recognise these lines! An extraordinary painting but also very strange.
