If you would like to learn more about the architecture of Barcelona, old and new, I highly recommend a guided walk with BA-W. I did the “Barcelona and the future” walk and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our excellent guide showed the history of the Glories area and how it is currently developing, with respect for the past and the inhabitants. Fascinating.
