Fun cubed

Cubic houses by Piet Blom, Rotterdam, February 2020
-winning entry in the Landscape category of British Photography Awards 2021

Huge thanks to everyone that voted for me in the people’s vote in the British Photography Awards 2021. I didn’t win that bit but I won the overall prize in the architecture section, with the results revealed last night in the online awards event.

You can see the video of the event here, and you can also saunter through the online gallery and enjoy the stunning shortlisted entries from all categories.

Around the world, we’ve had a difficult 12 months since I visited Rotterdam at the beginning of 2020, and my photography has helped me through the stress, the boredom and the losses of loved ones. Just having my camera to accompany on my daily walks has been a help, and I have also had some success in competitions. I was shortlisted in Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020 and Travel Photographer of the Year 2020, and won the Street Photography category of the Monochrome Photography Awards. Last night’s win was a delight, and has boosted my desire to get out there and find more delights to share.

Thank you to all of my blog followers for your encouragement – your comments and our shared laughter (and sometimes moans) keep my step count growing and my Lightroom catalogue overflowing!

  2. Woohoo 🎉 Congrats, Debbie 👏 Well deserved with that shot 😃 Odd that I was just thinking of your image the other day whilst writing the post for the Lens-Artists Geometry prompt & wondered how you got on; now I know 😃
