Cramond Island? I have an old glass mounted 35mm slide of my mother’s of some fishing boats, and the label says Cramond….

It’s a spot I live to visit when in Edinburgh. A small village with tea room (outdoor only since COVID) and a pub that closed down a couple of years ago. And then there’s the view and a walk along the causeway to the island. And the River Almond runs alongside and into the Firth of Forth. Popular for salmon and trout fishing. Usually a few boats around. I think one used to run people back and for across the Almond.

Ah. My mother studied in Edinburgh and was a regular visitor to Arthur’s Seat and places around

Oh, what a great place to study. It’s about a 30 minute bus ride out of the city centre to Cramond so an easy place to escape the city
