That sounds weird but I’m sure they must know something I don’t. I once had Tabasco ice cream and it was very good.

I think we are getting more ambitious with our mix of flavours. Salt and chilli can work so well with sweet things.

Is it a sweet ice cream? Not vanilla, I’m guessing. Get the right flavour, and I can see this working.

It was sweet. It was called “bread, butter and anchovies” and was bread crumble, butter ice cream and anchovies. They added a hint of lemon and salt. I loved it!

I’ve never knowingly had Janssons.
This one reminded me of another of my favourites: toasted bread, chocolate mousse, olive oil and salt.

Janssen’s is all about eggs, potato cream and anchovies, as I recall. Your ‘toasted bread, chocolate mousse, olive oil and salt’ sounds fab! Where did you have that?

How are you coping with the heat in your part of the world, Jo? Any fires near you? We’ve got a pleasant weekend so I’m off to walk while we still can. Monday and Tuesday will be a different and hotter matter

It’s a bit hot for me, Debs. Chugging water like a good un! There’s a fire at Quinta do Lago, not that far away, but temperatures here are low 30s compared to the north where it’s seriously hot! 😟💗
