Tokyo, May 2023
I have had the above image shortlisted in the British Photography Awards this year. The results will be announced on 10 November.
In addition to the judges’ awards there is also a people’s vote, so if you like this image I’d love a vote from you. Click here to place your vote. Big thank you to all who vote.
Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally – tweet, instagram, flickr, etc. with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS.

I should add: Your fellow competitors showed some impressive architecture. But your shot lives from your perception, the architecture itself is to some extent mundane (exception the lone streetlamp).

Thanks Elke. It’s ever so hard choosing photos for competitions and exhibitions. The image can have so much more (or different at least) meaning to the photographer than the viewer. As you say, without the boy and the open curtains above him, this would not be a very interesting building.

Thanks Margaret. I always find it so hard to do the words to go with exhibition and competition submissions, but I’m loving my ‘ma’ project so these words came more easily.
