Great functional yet stylish tower. We seem to have lost the desire to create pleasing yet functional buildings, in there place concrete brutal structures… not sure the will stand the test of time and certainly don’t please the eye. They say its progress ?

Worth taking a look. The huge water tank underneath (now empty!) is used for concerts. I haven’t tried that out yet.
Sadly it was also used as a concentration camp.

It does look worth exploring, especially with its chequered history.

Yes, a sturdy and attractive building, serving a very important role. Sadly in later years it was also used as a concentration camp

KollwitzPlatz….Käthe Kollwitz? Brilliant artist, but often sad images, Are you familiar with her art?

Yes, there’s a large museum of her work in Berlin. And she lived near the water tower square when she moved to Berlin.

Ah, interesting…I visited the Käthe Kollvitzhaus in Moritzburg to see an exhibition of her work …dunno if the water tower square place was in existence then
