Welcome to One Word Sunday, and over to all of you to join the challenge with your own monotony. You are welcome to interpret monotone in any way you like, including unmusical, tedious, repetitive, or similar in tone or colour. However you tackle it, I’m sure it won’t be boring.

hello debbie,
a wonderful picture and theme that you have chosen, was it in the morning or in the evening you can’t see exactly the sunlight?
here is my contribution, https://wp.me/pfnz9O-pX for the challenge.

It was early morning – hundreds of balloons take off here just before dawn. On my first morning the roar of the gas just above my hotel room woke me up. After that I got up every morning to watch them fly past

Monotone indeed….. but will the balloon make it over those mountain peaks ?

Amazingly it did. I was amazed at the control they had and how low they came at times. Almost close enough to touch!

Thanks Margaret. On any mornings I wasn’t off on a trip I was up early to watch and photo the balloons. So beautiful.

This one was a real beauty. A bit more subtle than some of the balloons.

Turkish mountains and a hot air balloon. Wow. Were you riding in a balloon yourself? My photo is not of motion, but a monotone frieze; https://fakeflamenco.com/2024/07/28/monotone/

Not when I took that one. But I did have a ride one morning. A great experience but not so good for photos.

Cool that you were able to ride in one. Is it too variable in motion for photos?

I was spoilt for choice of balloon colours. There is a huge number flying every morning ( subject to weather of course)

Colors I might see around here, although all the balloons I’ve seen here and in New Mexico are brightly colored. I like the angle of the photo, with the shape of the balloon mimicked by the hill in the back.

I was rather lucky to find this one with its more muted colours. The scenery there is stunning anyway but the balloons do add some morning excitement. You’d be very at home there I think 😀
