Light as Inspiration

Photography has taught me to find inspiration in everything around me.  I observe everything more closely these days; patterns, colours, shapes, textures and the interaction and juxtaposition of all of these will have be grabbing for my camera.

If forced to pick one element that is my muse, I would have to go for light – a bit cliché perhaps, for what is a photo without light, but it’s the shadows, the reflections and the colours that call to me.  And it is light that drags me out of my bed in time for sunrise, even though I am really not a morning person!

  1. Not cliche at all. No more so than all the other things we all will be sharing. I’m with you though, since I started carrying a camera full time 7 years ago i notice so much more than I ever did. I love it!

  2. A really beautiful photo with all that, great lines, sunlight and shadows. It is really a new way to look at the world through the lens of a camera. 🙂

  3. Agree! Photography really inspires one who is passionate about it to really pay attention to the world around us. It’s almost addictive! Great shot BTW. 🙂

  4. You’re so right about photography making a person observe more closely. I take photos of all sorts of things and it’s such fun, especially because if something doesn’t turn out, I can just get rid of it. I like the patterns you got in this shot.
