Eeeek!

Avenue gardens in Regents Park,  London,  April 2017

I don’t know about you, but to me this winged lion is looking shocked and surprised at whatever is advancing towards him down Avenue Gardens in Regents Park.

There are four of these powerful stone animals supporting a large circular stone bowl, which is known as the Lion Tazza, or Lion Vase.  It was installed in 1863 and was repaired during the restoration of the gardens between 1993 and 1996.
