Alexander Suvorov was a Russian military leader, considered a national hero. He is considered one of the greatest commanders in Russian and world history, never losing a major battle that he had commanded. He was Count of Rymnik, Count of the Holy Roman Empire, Prince of Italy, and the last Generalissimo of the Russian Empire.
This statue of the man on horseback was created in 1979 and sits in the main square in Tiraspol, capital of unrecognised Transnistria.
